Avening & Cherington Cricket Club
Welcome to the home of Avening & Cherington CC
Firsts complete unbeaten season, Seconds ensure safety with close win
An unbeaten season for the 1st XI as they comfortably won away at Cheltenham Allsorts. Stewart Hudd
hit 71 and LLord Price 44 as A&C hit 235-6 and Price then took 3-38 as the Allsorts finished on 144-7.
The 2nd XI reached 127-4 on a very wet pitch at Cherington as Paul Munden (42) and Dave Thomas (32) dug in.
I feel I must, unbiasly, report that Dave Thomas hit a 6 (on a grown up length outfield) which took out the
Bibury umpires front headlight it was hit so hard - he;s very very sorry for the insurance claim that follows.
Astute bowling changes from Andy Smith then saw Bibury dismissed just 13 runs short.
